Resorts Atlantic City, the oldest casino in New Jersey, is sold and transformed with the theme of the 1920 ' 2 in mind. What the Casino and the rest of the AC casino industry needs is however a return to the 1970s and 1980s, when AC casinos ruled the gaming world.
September gaming turnover figures were released on Tuesday and it was another disappointing month for the casinos. Revenue fell 11.6% from the same period in 2009, and that's not good considering that the numbers 2009 decreased as well.
The eleven casinos in Atlantic City all saw revenue declines in september. The casinos have struggled for most of the past two years, and there is nothing to indicate that a turnaround anytime soon will come. The last revenue figures have officials of the AC casinos shaking their heads again.
Table game revenue on the New Jersey casinos decreased 15.6%. That would be a direct reflection of the table games that are now being offered in the casinos, Pennsylvania.In July, Pennsylvania casinos started offering of table games, and they've taken customers from AC casinos in the months since.
Slot revenue decreased also in double digits. the decrease of the income of 9.9% was not as bad as some previous months, but it clearly shows that competition and the economy has seriously harmed the AC gaming industry.There are some analysts who are now predicting that AC casinos will never see the sales figures which they enjoyed a time on a regular basis.
The total turnover of 296,3 million dollar kept tonnes as the second largest gaming destination in the u.s., but the warning signs all point to Pennsylvania catch up them in the future. In September 2009 was income at the casinos 335.4 million dollars.
Competition is not only submitted by Pennsylvania., New York, Maryland and Delaware also have their casino options be extended. Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire might not be far behind, with lawmakers casino proposals.
