The online poker community is growing day by day, and the more popular the activity, the more that online sites are turning to celebrities to help promote their product. The last signing comes courtesy of Full Tilt Poker.
Full Tilt has signed tennis pro James Blake as a "friend of full Tilt."The online poker site has many professionals who play team full tilt, and then there is another group of endorsers who under the umbrella of the friends of Full Tilt. Blake is the last to the team.
Formerly, full tilt has a similar deal with Hall of Fame hockey player Wayne Gretzky.With athletes join the celebrities in the support of the online poker sites, the community alone are expected to grow over the next few years.
"There is no doubt that online gambling has become more often in the past decade, thanks to the game of Poker," said gaming analyst Steve Schwartz. "The payouts in online tournaments are bigger, more countries have regulated online poker, and these factors combined with the power of the celebrity online gambling is one of the world's largest industries.
In the US, people can go online and access to poker sites, but the Government has made it difficult to deposit and withdraw money from places like PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker created. The financial institutions in the United States are legally obliged to block Internet gambling transactions.
Legislators are currently looking for rewriting the laws affected. Representative Barney Frank legislation that would regulate Internet gambling has suggested, but that Bill the House floor has not reached. in the meantime, online sites continue to operate and high profile celebrities to log on to promote their product.
Professional poker players such as Annie Duke and Daniel Negreanu, have made it clear that the current laws in the United States are a violation of the freedom of the citizens of the US legislators. President Obama has vowed to keep the Internet free from ban, but he has yet to tackle the ban on Internet gambling in the country.
